Funerals as Unique as Your Life
Life is full of opportunities to show someone we love them. One such opportunity is the funeral or memorial service. Such a loving event celebrates the choices they made, the relationship you shared, and honors the memory of your loved one.
I feel you hit all the nails on their head. The key to reducing LEO suicide is knowledge, resilience and open and frank discussions of all its facets. Blue H.E.L.P. did that. Now is the opportunity to bring these discussions to the stations, training facilities, and rank & file discussions.
Without a doubt those courageous women who inspire us all to work for this cause, and an organization that presents itself in such a professional and powerful manner.
Those brave women were a game changer for me. I will never forget that panel discussion and the effects it had on me. I'm currently putting together a presentation of my own for Officers in Connecticut. Their painful experiences and the ripple afterwards are now a big part of that presentation.
Blue HELP was refreshingly different from other organizations with a similar focus and I think it will rise above the others for this reason. The focus was not solely on suicide prevention but on the ways that we can be proactive, build resiliency, and foster healthier officers that will hopefully never get close to these low points.
